STATEWIDE END-OF-COURSE (EOC) ASSESSMENTS

Statewide End-of-Course assessments are required for graduation from a Florida public school for certain core courses. Under Florida law, EOC assessments make up 30% of the public school student’s final grade in the course. Here is the list of courses subject to the EOC requirement:

  • Algebra 1

  • Geometry

  • Biology 1

  • Civics (middle school course)

  • U.S. History (high school course)

EOC assessments are optional for private school students and do not count as a portion of the final course grade. However, if a private school student plans on graduating from a Florida public school, the student will be required to take the EOC assessments prior to graduation. Additionally, the student’s FLVS grades may be recalculated by the public school based on the results of the EOC assessments.

EOC assessments are administered by the zoned school district. If your student plans on taking an EOC assessment, you should make arrangements with the zoned school district around the beginning of the second semester of the course (typically in January). Please note that Brooke House Academy does not make arrangements for your student.
